Troy by Heather Jansch
Because of the popularity of her small work, later in her career Jansch created a series of small driftwood heads, with the express intention of casting in bronze. Troy was one of the first of these. The moulds for Troy have only recently been discovered in the archive, and until we had No.2 of 12 cast at Heather’s foundry, we had no real sense of him, having only one small low resolution photo for reference.
Our records suggest that the originals of Troy and his cousin Sentinel were completed in 2016 and 2017 respectively, the first cast coming from the moulds in 2017.
Troy is available in an edition of twelve in bronze. The driftwood original of this sculpture has long since disappeared.

Other sculpture by Heather Jansch
Other examples of her work include her enduringly popular life-size foals such as Cherry Pie. Heather’s other small work for interiors included sculptures like Jeunesse from her Tang series for example, and the magnificent Etalon, regarded by many as her very finest work. In a departure from her usual practice, Heather also produced a series of dancers and warrior women.
We are following an active programme of casting from Heather’s moulds to finish the editions she began and so Heather’s work continues to be exhibited on a regular basis, and can be seen at The Diehl Gallery in Jackson, WY, and Sculpture by the Lakes in Dorset, UK. As a result, many of her sculptures remain available for purchase.
