Sharza by Heather Jansch
Because this piece represents the culmination of many years trial and error in perfecting the translation of the driftwood originals in to bronze Sharza’s presence belies her size. She forms part of a short series of smaller heads intended from the outset for bronze casting, of which other examples include Sentinel and Jupiter.
She shares many similarities with another of Heather’s sculptures, Sugar Babe, from which we believe Sharza is derived.
Sharza is available in an edition of nine in Bronze, but we are unsure of the location/existence of the driftwood original and so if you have any information regarding the provenance of the original, we would be very grateful to hear from you.
Cast number one of nine can be seen at The Diehl Gallery in Jackson, WY, but additonal casts from the moulds can also be ordered.

Other sculpture by Heather Jansch
Other examples of her work include her enduringly popular life-size foals such as Dylan. Her smaller work for interiors included sculptures like Jeunesse from her Tang series and the magnificent Etalon, regarded by many as her very finest work. In a departure from her usual practice, Heather also produced a series of dancers and warrior women.
We are following an active programme of casting from Heather’s moulds to finish the editions she began and so Heather’s work continues to be exhibited on a regular basis, and can be seen at The Diehl Gallery in Jackson, WY, and Sculpture by the Lakes in Dorset, UK. As a result, many of her sculptures remain available for purchase.
