Cicero – About This Piece
For the last few years we were under the impression that there were multiple versions of Cicero, however, we now think that the confusion arose because we have discovered what was clearly intended by Heather to be a companion piece, which goes by the name of Caesar!
Not only do we have the plaster original of that companion piece in the archive, but we have also recently found the moulds. Sadly, however, because we don’t have the corresponding mould records, we can’t continue the numbered edition.
The last of the numbered edition of Cicero (shown here) was recently sold by our agent in the US (The Diehl Gallery in Jackson WY). Excitingly, however, in doing the research in to Caesar at Heather’s foundry, we also came across a bronze Artist’s Proof of Cicero. Unlike the numbered edition, the Artist’s Proof has no base and is free-standing.
The AP is the very last remaining example of this piece. Please contact us if you would like to consider adding it to your collection.

Other sculpture by Heather Jansch
Other examples of her work include her enduringly popular life-size foals such as Dylan. Her smaller work for interiors included sculptures like Jeunesse from her Tang series and the magnificent Etalon, regarded by many as her very finest work. In a departure from her usual practice, Heather also produced a series of dancers and warrior women.
We are following an active programme of casting from Heather’s moulds to finish the editions she began and so Heather’s work continues to be exhibited on a regular basis, and can be seen at The Diehl Gallery in Jackson, WY, and Sculpture by the Lakes in Dorset, UK. As a result, many of her sculptures remain available for purchase.
