Paloma by Heather Jansch
Paloma hails from a period when Heather’s practice in sculpting her life-sized horses had matured. She had perfected her technique for the translation of the larger sculptures in to bronze with The Young Arabian, and Forget Me Not, and was planning that Paloma would be the next to be moulded at the foundry. Paloma spent many years in Heather’s woodshed at her sculpture garden in Olchard, Devon (adorned by a label bearing the words “to be moulded”), waiting for the right collector to commission the bronze; sadly, however, the moulds were never created during Heather’s lifetime.
It was rarely exhibited and rarely photographed, but now the move to the new archive is complete, Paloma can be brought in to the light and shown for the first time in many years.
During our custodianship of Heather’s legacy, we have continued to work with Heather’s mould-makers and foundry and our intention is to complete the work Heather began. Paloma will be available in an edition of five bronzes.

Other sculpture by Heather Jansch
This piece forms part of Heather Jansch’s series of life-size horses. Other examples of her work include her enduringly popular life-size foals such as Dylan. Her smaller work for interiors included sculptures like Jeunesse from her Tang series, and the magnificent Etalon, regarded by many as her very finest work. In a departure from her usual practice, Heather also produced a series of dancers and warrior women.
We are following an active programme of casting from Heather’s moulds to finish the editions she began. As a result, Heather’s work continues to be exhibited on a regular basis, and can be seen at The Diehl Gallery in Jackson, WY, and Pangolin London. Many of her sculptures remain available for purchase.
