Clover
Pictured here in the original driftwood, Clover forms part of Jansch’s series of life-size foals. The creation of the foals prompted Heather’s exploration of the technical aspects of bronze casting, and so ultimately lead to the process that became her signature, often producing bronzes that were indistinguishable from the driftwood original from which they were cast.
Clover is available in an edition of five bronzes, but the original (pictured) is no-longer in good enough condition for exhibition or sale. The ravages of time and the British weather will take their toll on even the hardest oak driftwood, and it was this that lead Jansch to focus on bronze.
Jansch’s life-size foals remain enduring favorites: two of which reside at The Eden Project, serving as placeholders while The Eden Horse is restored in preparation for bronze casting. In addition to Clover other examples of Heather’s foals include Sugar Babe, Dylan, and Sugar Plum.

Other sculpture by Heather Jansch
This piece forms part of Heather Jansch’s series of life-size foals. Other examples of her work include, most famously, her life-size driftwood and bronze horses, such as Apollo. Her smaller work for interiors included sculptures like Jeunesse from her Tang series, and the magnificent Etalon, regarded by many as her very finest work. In a departure from her usual practice, Heather also produced a series of dancers and warrior women.
We are following an active programme of casting from Heather’s moulds to finish the editions she began. As a result, many of her sculptures remain available for purchase. Because of this Heather’s work continues to be exhibited on a regular basis, and can currently be seen at The Diehl Gallery in Jackson, WY, and Sculpture by the Lakes in Dorset, UK.
