Beethoven
Beethoven is was created at the start of the driftwood to bronze translation project.
This was the second complete driftwood horse of Jansch’s to be cast in bronze, quickly following on from his stable mate RaRa, the two forming a pair that the artist frequently exhibited and sold toegther (the Tang horses, such as Cicero, had preceded them, but these were a more traditional plaster model).
We believe that the moulds for the bronze of Beethoven have been found and the edition currently stands at number 9 of 9 being the next available, in addition we currently have number two in the edition for sale by the original owner. The driftwood original has long since disappeared. It is not known whether it was sold, or destroyed in the casting process.

Other sculpture by Heather Jansch
Other examples of her work include her enduringly popular life-size foals such as Dylan. Her smaller work for interiors included sculptures like Jeunesse from her Tang series and the magnificent Etalon, regarded by many as her very finest work. In a departure from her usual practice, Heather also produced a series of dancers and warrior women.
We are following an active programme of casting from Heather’s moulds. Our objective in doing so is to finish the editions she began and so Heather’s work continues to be exhibited on a regular basis, and can be seen at The Diehl Gallery in Jackson, WY, and Sculpture by the Lakes in Dorset, UK. As a result, many of her sculptures remain available for purchase.
