Dancer No. 4 by Heather Jansch
Made at Jansch’s Sedgewell Coach House studio, this is one of the earliest of the “Dancers”, and is the sculptural descendant of the work created during the period of the Ashburton Life Group. Created from driftwood, mixed media, and objet trouvés, the dancers carry the fluidity of line, typical of Jansch’s best draftsmanship, in to the third dimension.
The original Dancer No. 4 (pictured) is not for sale, however an edition of bronzes is planned.

Other sculpture by Heather Jansch
This piece forms part of Heather Jansch’s series of dancers and warrior women. Other examples of her work include, most famously, her life-size driftwood and bronze horses, such as Apollo. Her smaller work for interiors included sculptures like Jeunesse from her Tang series, and the magnificent Etalon, regarded by many as her very finest work.
We are following an active programme of casting from Heather’s moulds to finish the editions she began. Thus Heather’s work continues to be exhibited on a regular basis, and can be seen at The Diehl Gallery in Jackson, WY, and Sculpture by the Lakes in Dorset, UK. As a result, many of her sculptures remain available for purchase.
Our exhibitions page has details of upcoming shows, but if you would are considering a purchase and would like to arrange a viewing or additional photographs you are welcome to get in touch.
